Durango, Colorado Wildflowers & Flora

Summertime in South Colorado. I could spend hours, days, weeks documenting all the beauty & wonder of this land & still not capture even a fraction of its beauty.

My soul feels at peace here. Calm, soothed. Waking up, pouring my coffee, smelling the contrast of the warm roasted aroma on the cool pine filtered air brings me into a feeling space of freedom & adventure.

I am ready & honored to be a resident of this beautiful land. I vow to wake up every morning that I am here with gratitude, wonder & honor the land & all its inhabitants.

I am ready for you, mother nature, to realign me to the ways of the natural world.

I found this PDF guide to all the plant life here in Southwest Colorado. I can't wait to learn the names of everything.  Photos taken at Oxbow Park & Preserve.

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” ― Albert Einstein

“I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people. I thought, "This is what it is to be happy.” ― Sylvia Plath
