Inga Howard is a multidisciplinary artist based in Angleton, Texas, whose work explores the feminine, nature, vulnerability, symbolism and the archetypal world.

A lifelong maker, Inga spent many years allowing art to weave in and out of the other paths of her life before ultimately recognizing something that had remained constant beneath them all: she had always been an artist.

Her work frequently incorporates the nude feminine form, not primarily as an expression of sexuality, but as a symbol of vulnerability—the uncloaked and unmasked self.

Birds, animals, plants and natural landscapes appear alongside figures inspired by mythology, tarot and recurring human archetypes.

Influenced by Jungian ideas surrounding archetype, symbol and the collective unconscious, Inga is interested in what happens beneath our conscious response to an image. A symbol can become a mirror through which we encounter something ancient, forgotten or unrealized within ourselves.

Through House of Astra, she creates original works, fine-art editions and creative experiences intended not simply to occupy a space, but to participate in it.
